The purpose of the study the function of the accommodative apparatus of the eye depending on the tone of the ANS and to determine the degree of validity of the Kerdo autonomic index for myopia in children. Material and methods: results of a survey of 143 children and adolescents with myopia aged 7-18 years to assess the influence of various types of ANS tone on the development and progression of myopia in order to establish the clinical and functional relationship between the ANS and myopia, as well as to determine the role of the autonomic Kerdo index in the complex diagnosis of myopic refraction. Results: analysis of the data obtained allows us to draw both theoretical conclusions related to the pathogenesis of progressive myopia, and some practical conclusions about the use of the studied indicators as diagnostic criteria in clinical practice when choosing treatment tactics for patients with progressive myopia, in particular, when determining indications for sclerastrengthening treatment. Conclusions: Congenital myopia is characterized by a lower individual dispersion of KI values than acquired myopia, but even with this form of myopia, an increase in KI during dynamic observation can be considered as a risk factor for its unfavorable (progressive or complicated) course.
