The estimation of the influence of Elodea canadensis Michx. introduction on macrozoobenthos of the Chtvyrkuy bay

As a result of our investigations of macrozoobenthos of the Chivyrkuy Bay conducted in June - August 2005-2006 the structure and quantitative data ofbenthic communities of Elodea canadensis were described and obtained for the first time. It was revealed, that communities of E. canadensis differ from the others by a more diversity and abundance ofbenthic animals. It is not impossible, that the high growth rate ofE. canadensis in summer time and subsequent litter decomposition in winter is a great risk in existence of hydrobionts' communities.
