Purpose: to study the component composition of serous lipoproteins (LP) in ischemic patients at various post-operative levels after coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. Methods: 38 ischemic patients were examined to determine the concentration of total triglycerides (TTC), total cholesterol (TCS), cholesterol of high-density fractions (HDLP), low-density fractions (LDLP) and very low-density fractions (VLDLP), as well as LDLP1-3, VLDLP1-2, VLDLP3-5 fractions and immediate density lipoproteins (IDLP). The measurements were taken preoperatively, on the 11-16 day after operation and in 39 patients in the long-term period after operation. Serous LP were determined by using small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXRS). Results: Preoperatively some deviations of the lipid spectrum variables typical for artherosclerosis (AS), namely, an increase in TTC, TCS, VLDF, LDF and a decrease in HDLP were observed. On the 11-16 day after operation the content of TCS, TTC and VLDLP with their sub-fractions tended to decrease and LDLP and LDLP1-3 tended to increase. In the long-term period there was again a tendency for TTC, TCS and VLDLP and their subfractions to increase and for LDLP1-3 to decrease. On the whole, all lipid metabolism variables ap-proached the initial values, thus matching the generally accepted parameters observed under AS. Conclusion: CABG introduces some changes in the composition of blood lipids and serous lipoproteins, which reflect an adaptive alteration of lipid metabolism as a response to surgical trauma. At the same time, a decrease in the level of TCS, TTC, VLDLP and their sub-fractions can not be considered as a positive criterion of atherosclerosis course.
