The imperative utterances from the texts of Ermolai-Erazm and Ivan Peresvetov, the Russian publicists of the 16th century are considered. The predicates with the semantics of obligation, directed both to the Tsar and his subjects have been considered. The role of the political texts is revealed in the determination of essence and forms of Tsar’s power manifestation, in formation of the Russian statehood.
