The article studies the meaning of clothes in communicative space. It contains the typology allowing to more precisely defining a functional problem of clothes in the process of communication. The clothes within communicative process are divided into two types: the clothes creating gesture, and the clothes creating the image. The article also contains the theoretical substantiation of the given typology.
