Single-stage functional reconstruction of lower wall of the orbit after maxillary tumor removal

The method of single-stage functional reconstruction of lower wall of the orbit using the mesh polimer implant has been devised and applied. After the removal of the maxilla with the complete resection of the lower wall of the orbit, the fragment of defectmatched implant is cut out. The implant is then placed under the orbital fat and fixed with resorbable suture material. The orbital reconstruction was perforemed in 3 patients. All patients had fast epithelization of postoperative wound and good engraftment. Binocular vision was mantained.
