The relation between the right to pension insurance and marital property rights in comparative European systems

This paper discusses the matter of marital property and pension funds, as well as possible ways of dividing assets related to pension funds between spouses. The paper also contains a comparative overview of several basic European models of dividing marital property (Continental, Anglo-Saxon, Mediterranean, and Nordic). The notion of dividing marital property will certainly be changed in the future, primarily the division of assets gained through voluntary pension funds. That is why certain experiences from the Anglo- Saxon and Nordic models will serve as useful comparative and consultative models.
