Unambiguous, polysemous, and figurative words: connection, community, feature

The article analyzes the ambiguity of words in the Kyrgyz language using examples from dictionaries and fiction. The mechanisms of formation of figurative meanings (aylan, zhakshy) and their relation to direct meanings are considered. Special attention is paid to the role of context in revealing the semantics of words and the differences between unambiguous and polysemous units. The study shows that figurative meanings arise due to associations and cultural and historical factors, playing an important role in creating the imagery of the language. The material shows that ambiguity enriches vocabulary, especially in artistic speech.
