The article represents results of studies made upon the officer corps’ personnel in garrison battalions, serving at Siberia in the 2 nd half of 18 th century. Using the archive sources, studied for a first time, the author has determined some quality parameters of officers contingent: their social origin, military experience, disciplinary metrics. It has been established that descendants from non-privileged groups, coming from Russia’s european part, prevailed among Siberian garrison forces’ officers. This fact shows a considerable scale of transferring officers from European Russia’s provinces to serve in the complement of Siberian corps. There were quite a lot of people, who had taken part in some military campaigns, with a serious military experience.
