The digitalization of energy company processes and the shortage of specialists in this field of activity leads to the emergence of new methods for finding, attracting and retaining employees. This article analyzes the difficulties and problems of Chinese companies in the electric power industry in the field of talent management in IT departments. The focus is on the difference in the value systems of generations in China, the negative side of the monopoly of state-owned companies and high staff turnover, as well as reference and practical methods for reforming the personnel strategy. Taking into account the characteristics of national culture, creating a talent pool suitable for enterprise development to reduce the risk caused by staff turnover, establishing an effective closed-loop talent development mechanism, and ensuring the uniformity of standards and processes should be the top priority of Chinese energy enterprises in the field of talent management.
