Conservation of newly found populations of Galeobdolon luteum Huds. in Zavolzhie in the frame of biome concept

Basing on of the biome concept, we assessed the representativeness of the existing network of specially protected natural areas within the band of broad-leaved-coniferous forests in eastern European Russia. The way to improve this network is illustrated by the example of the proposed creation of a natural monument based on the newly discovered habitat of Galeobdolon luteum, which is also of value from the standpoint of the conservation of coenotic diversity.
