Assistance to justice as a guarantor of the adversarial principle of the parties in Russian criminal proceedings

In this article, the author analyzes the criminal procedure legislation in force in the context of the influence of persons who assist in the administration of justice on the implementation of adversarial principle in the criminal process of the Russian Federation. The main criminal procedure possibilities that ensure the equality of the parties in the process of the defense team’s formation of the evidential basis, further ways of developing the criminal procedure law have been identified in order to inforce the adversarial principles and to achieve the equality of the arms by involving persons providing assistance to justice.
