The oxidative degradation of n-aminobenzenesulfonamide by hydrogen peroxide in aqueous solutions in the presence offerric ions is studied. The spectrophotometric method proves that benzenesulfamide and sulfanilamide’s complex offerric ions is obtained as intermediate form during the oxidation of sulfanilamide. The rate of oxidative degradation of sulfanilamide is found to increase in the presence of Fe 3+cations up to 30 times compared with the non-catalytic oxidation of sulfanilamide. The sulfanilamide’s conversion reaches up to 96% for 330 min at at pH 3.0 and 30°C in the stoichiometric content of H 2O 2 and concentration of Fe 3+ cations 4.510' 5 M.
