Ontogenetic spectrum of trees under conditions of coniferous and broadleaved forest

The use of the biological age scale makes it possible to judge reliably the state of the population and it is the basis for predictions of its development, which in turn is the basis for rational and sustainable forest management and forest exploitation. In this work a comparison is made of the ontogenetic spectra of plantations of cedar-broadleaf formations that grow under different forest conditions in the forest plot of Primorskaya State Academy of Agriculture. As a result of the obtained data, it can be concluded that under conditions of growth at the watershed, the species composition of plantations is depleted, in comparison with the floodplain conditions, the same is observed in relation to the undergrowth. However, competition with a living ground cover does not ensure the availability of a reliable growth of coniferous species in floodplain conditions. As a result there are two options for the development of the ecosystem: along the way of a coniferous-broadleaf formation or in the case of a bottom fire of a post-fire oak forest.
