The paper is devoted to clarifying the specifics and trends in the development of environmental philosophy as one of the modern philosophical and environmental directions. The study aims to consider the features that determine the direction of ecophilosophical reflection. The subject content, specifics of tasks setting and ecophilosophy ontological potential are revealed. It is shown that the space of philosophical reflection covers axiological, ideological, gnoseological, ethical, epistemological, existential aspects and modes of ecological being. The significance of comprehensive, holistic understanding of ecological being and heuristic application of ontological, existential, hermeneutic, phenomenological, anthroposynergetic approaches, as well as modal analysis for the solution of the given task are indicated. The conclusion is made about the prospects of research on the development of human ontoecological practices as anthropopractices of ontological “self-care” and manifestation of care for the world (ecosystem) as a whole.
