The article presents an approach to solving the assessing problem of the energy impact on the geoecology of region. The work is carried out within the framework of an international project jointly with researchers from Belarus and Armenia with the support of the EAPI-RFFI funds. Some basic concepts of a new interdisciplinary field of research - geoecology, whose main task is to study the state of life-supporting resources under the influence of natural and anthropogenous factors are considered. The impact of energy as one of the main anthropogenic factors is obvious and requires special research, including from the point of view of the interrelation of the basic concepts. In order to take into account the requirements of geoecology to energy, related to the need to preserve a productive natural environment for present and future generations of people, it is proposed to use the concept of “quality of life”. Definitions of the basic concepts of geoecology, related to studies of the impact of energy on the geoecology of the region, are given. Examples of ontologies reflecting the main interrelationships of energy and geoecology are given. For clarity, ontologies are presented in a graphical form, executed using the toolkit CmapTools
