Ontologic value of a threshold in M. Gorky's play «At the bottom»

The article is devoted to an unsettled problem: the forms of displaying author's consciousness in a drama through dramatic chronotope. In Gorky's play «At the bottom» the interpretation of time and space occurs at different levels of the literary and theatrical text structure: from historical-geographical representations and images to verbal and phonetic temporal and spatial semantics. The research of temporal and spatial figurativeness in the dramatic text creates a certain ontologic field where the insuperable situation of a threshold appears as its basic paradigm.
