Opera style of Venetian school in the second half of XVII century: historically informed performing perspective

The article raises the issues of historical informed performing Venetian drama per musica in the central Baroque period. The theory of affects and the affects classification which had taken shape by the middle of seicento defined the directions of the opera style further development. Early pathetical style which formed in the frames of Venetian opera school on the base of word and music equality continued its development to affects typification with musical means. “Recitative aria” principle in the scene structure shifted to the aria component. Strengthening the arioso part led to a new type of intonating, to changes in performing stylistics and technology. Development of bel canto performance style assumed using definite parameters while singing recitatives and arias. They are reflected in old masters’ works.
