The research of tourist and recreational space of the Russian coast of Azov Sea from 2013 to the present allowed us to put the main hypothesis about the formation of the new tourist destination "Russian coast of Azov Sea". The possibility of changing the its status from transit territory to the main destination is the main problematic issue. Ideas about the design of the supporting tourist and recreational frame of the region are necessary for its rational tourist development. The scheme of the supporting tourist and recreational framework of the Russian coast of Azov Sea, formulated in the work, is based on a comprehensive assessment and typology of the tourist and recreational potential of the Russian coast of Azov Sea. It allows us to consider the development of tourist facilities in the Russian Sea of Azov at a conceptual scientific level that has access to practice. The dominant role in the region is played by its current geoposition, which defines the Russian coast of Azov Sea as a strategic national territory where socio-cultural, economic and geopolitical boundaries intersect. It will be the key external factor in the near future in the transformation of the design of the supporting tourist and recreational frame, and in the long term - a factor in the formation of a new type of supporting tourist and recreational frame of the Azov region. The greatest changes will occur in the Northern Sea of Azov. The development of tourist centers of Mariupol, Berdyansk, Genichesk, Primorsk, Obitochnaya, Belosarayskaya and Biryuchy Ostrov, Kirillovka, Novoazovsk will lead to the formation of full-fledged transport links in the region, the establishment of which will allow us to talk about the recreational functions of these territories in the future.
