Recognition of emotions by ear in testimonies of persons with different levels of anxiety

The article is devoted to research of features of formation of testimonies by witnesses at perception of criminal event. In a number of situations information about what happened comes to them through the organs of hearing, determining understanding of occurring on the basis of formed at it auditory images. Such situations, combined with subjective factors, cast doubt on the reliability of the transmitted information, while the establishment of the true picture of what happened depends on the correct interpretation of the perceived information. This study substantiates the existence of differences in the recognition of emotions by witnesses with different levels of anxiety. Thus, persons with a high level of personal anxiety identify more emotions and emotional expressions aurally than do persons with medium (moderate) and low levels of anxiety. The data obtained in the course of this study can be used in the work of persons organizing the preliminary investigation in order to improve the quality of witness testimony.
