Unlike irrigated areas in natural landscapes, there is a strong correlative feedback between soil temperature and moisture. Essentially, these parameters represent opposite processes, graphically they are asynchronous in nature. In mountainous areas, these features are permanent because of the difference in relief exposures due to vegetation, so their study and explanation are distinguished by their scientific importance and relevance. In the article, the results of the research conducted with the finding of hydrothermal potential (HTP) limits in the soil profile spread under different ecosystems formed in the mountain gray-brown type are given. The obtained average statistical range of HTP limits for mountainous gray-brown soils, using multiparameter devices that meet the principles of “soil-moment”, in a soil layer of 0‒20 cm was 513‒528 snr. The potential difference in the forest and meadow — 15 snr.
