Determination of effective treatment for feline panleukopenia

In pets, panleukopenia of cats is a great danger, the source of this disease is the virus. This article discusses two methods of treating feline panleukopenia. These studies were carried out from 2020 to 2022 at the Department of Epizootology, Parasitology and Veterinary and Sanitary Expertise of FSBEI HE «Chuvash State Agrarian University». The experimental part of the work was carried out in the training and practical center «Mustache, Paws, Tail» Two methods were used to treat panleukopenia in cats, so the animals were divided into 2 groups. Hematological and clinical methods were used to evaluate the experiments. For a certain time, 10 animals aged 4 to 8 months were examined, at the initial admission of which, from the results of the history, clinical examination, there was a suspicion of «panleukopenia». The diagnosis was confirmed through the PCR diagnostics of fecal samples. The analysis confirmed the parvovirus nature of the disease. Complete blood count was taken before treatment, after 9 and after 20 days. Hematological and clinical methods were used to evaluate the experiments. Of the two methods of treatment, method 1 is the most effective. Cats from 1 group recovered faster than in the second group. Body temperature, increased defecation and appetite normalized in the first group 2 days earlier. In the first group, the number of white blood cells after 9 days of treatment already returned to normal, while in the second group at the same time a decrease in the number of white blood cells was still observed. ESR in Group 1 decreased to the upper limit by Day - 9.
