The creation of integrated power supply systems using energy sources of varying nature and energy potential requires the development of new methods for their application and optimization. This paper examines 0.4 kV distributed generation systems to determine the optimal connection point for an additional source using the example of an extended transmission line with varying load distribution laws among consumers connected to this system. The optimal power for reducing power losses in the feeder line of an additional power source in the form of a photovoltaic array was determined for a line with a uniformly distributed load. It was found that the global minimum of the mathematical model for a distributed generation system with a connected photovoltaic array relative to the active power of the connected photovoltaic array and the line length to its connection point is 2/3. The optimal connection point for power line losses is located at a distance of 0.6–0.7 times the line length from the feeder center, and the maximum power is equal to the average power consumption of the line without the array.
