The article deals with issues related to the disclosure of the concept of organizational structure, through its definition as an integral system of functioning. Various approaches to the definition of a system are given. Elements of interaction of systems with the external environment are considered. The basic principles of systems functioning are defined. Separate elements of the management process are considered. The analysis of the main factors affecting the efficiency of organizational structures is carried out. Recommendations are given in the field of individual areas of activity for the formation of organizational structures in the current difficult political and economic conditions.
