The purpose of this article is to analyze the main problems of assessing the need for professional training of specialists at the enterprise and develop approaches to identifying the need for retraining and advanced training of personnel. The concepts of "qualification" and "training"are formulated. Aspects of planning retraining and advanced training of personnel are considered. The levels of formation of the organization's need for personnel development are indicated, and the importance of analysis in determining the need for retraining and advanced training of personnel in organizations, in particular, at industrial enterprises, is established. A method for determining the need for staff development in organizations has been developed.
