The results of total knee arthroplasty depend on the understanding of the basic biomechanical processes of functioning of a complex anatomical formation and the philosophy of prosthetics, which have reached a certain level and new opportunities are needed for further forward movement.The aim The aim of the study is to determine the level of the flexion gap in primary knee arthroplasty.Materials and methods. Patients were selected: 18 men and 23 women, mean age 66.5±7.2 years, BMI on average 32.0±2.6 kg/m2, with primary deforming osteoarthritis of the knee joint 3-4 st. according to the Kellgren-Lawrence classification, who were randomized into two groups: the first group (21) underwent primary TEKS using the method proposed by us, the second (20) underwent arthroplasty using standard manual techniques and instruments. All patients underwent standard computed tomography and radiography of the knee joint in the frontal and sagittal projections, and the size of the flexion gap was determined before and after surgery.Patients were selected: 18 men and 23 women, mean age 66.5±7.2 years, BMI on average 32.0±2.6 kg/m2, with primary osteoarthritis of the knee joint 3-4 st. according to the Kellgren-Lawrence classification, who were randomized into two groups: the first group (21) underwent primary TKA using the instrument proposed by us, the second (20) underwent arthroplasty using standard manual techniques and instruments. All patients underwent standard computed tomography and radiography of the knee joint in the frontal and sagittal projections, the level of the knee joint gap and the size of the flexion gap were determined before and after surgery.Results. When comparing the height of the joint space before and after surgery, when finding the difference in distances (errors) in both planes, high statistical significance was obtained ( function show_eabstract() { $('#eabstract1').hide(); $('#eabstract2').show(); $('#eabstract_expand').hide(); }
