Optimization of surgical treatment of squamous cell head and neck cancer

Reconstructive-restorative surgery is of particular value in treating patients with locally advanced head and neck tumors. Pedicle musculocutaneous flaps including greater pectoral and cervical muscles are more viable as compared to fatty-cutaneous flaps, especially if it is necessary to replace extensive infected defects of oral and pharyngeal mucosa.
