Antibiotics use optimization in pulmonology unit of a multifield hospital using DDD-methodology

Analysis of antimicrobial consumption in hospital departments ascertains problems of excessive or short antimicrobials use. It is possible to introduce methods of the drugs use optimization on the basis of such analysis results. The experience of the drugs use optimization technology inculcation in the pulmonology unit of a big hospital is presented. First the analysis of antimicrobials consumption was carried out and then the surveillance of antimicrobials use was introduced.
