The data of field experiments on the effectiveness of applying basic fertilizers and non-root nitrogen fertilizing to the gray wheatgrass of the Sova variety in the forest-steppe of Western Siberia are presented. Studies have shown that the use of mineral fertilizers in the main application had a positive effect on the productivity of gray wheatgrass. In the version without fertilizers, in 2019, the seed yield was 0.74 t/ha, in 2020 – 0.72 t/ha. Fertilization at a dose of N100P120 increased the yield of gray wheatgrass seeds by 0.37 in 2019 and by 0.46 t/ha in 2020. The use of foliar top dressing in 2019 during the tillering phase at a dose of 15 kg/ha of wheat increased the yield of gray wheatgrass grain by 0.12 t/ha. Due to adverse weather conditions in 2020, nitrogen leaf top dressing during the tillering phase was not effective. In variants using fertilizers, non-root nitrogen top dressing was also ineffective, since the main fertilizer fully provided the plants with nutrients. N100P120. The protein and gluten content in this variant was 18.6 and 36.4%, respectively. Non-root top dressing of glaucous wheatgrass during the milk ripeness phase did not have a significant effect on yield. Non-root nitrogen top dressing had a positive effect on the grain quality of glaucous wheatgrass only during the milk ripeness phase. On average, in 2019–2020, the use of leaf fertilizers increased the protein content by 1.0% and gluten content by 2.4%. Against the background of the use of fertilizers, all grain quality indicators were significantly higher in comparison with non-fertilized ones. The best quality indicators were provided by the option of using foliar top dressing in the tillering and milk ripeness phases against the background of the basic fertilizer N100P120. The protein and gluten content in this variant was 18.6 and 36.4%, respectively.
