Optimization of the symmetric profile by conjugated gradient method

The numerical optimization algorithm of the profile form on the basis of conjugated gradient method is developed. Feature of the method is possibility to use a great number design variable (the sizes defining the form of a profile) as machine time of the problem decision of optimization practically doesn't depend on their quantity. The direct problem described by the equations of Navier-Stokes for two-dimensional stationary current of a liquid, dares a method of control volume by means of algorithm SIMPLE. For reception of purpose function gradient it is necessary to solve conjugated equations which are defined from the equations of Navier-Stokes. The conjugated equations dare by means of adapted algorithm SIMPLE. Thus, on each optimization iteration machine time is approximately equal to machine time of the decision of two direct problems. The given method has been used for the decision of a problem of front resistance minimization of symmetric profile at set chord and the area.
