The article is a brief review of foreign literature that examines various aspects of Canada's demographic policy both in historical retrospective and in the focus of modern problems. The authors analyze a number of approaches to studying the demographic initiatives of the Canadian government at the national and regional levels, focusing on two main topics: family and immigration policy. Foreign researchers in their work trace the experience of using cash payments, tax incentives and other types of state support for families, the specifics of regional differences in Canadian family policy. When studying Canadian immigration policy, the models of social and economic integration of immigrants, their demographic behavior, opportunities and difficulties in adaptation are considered.
