Experince in hdrbrachytherapy using the MultiSource apparatus for different tumors

The protocols of high-dose-rate – intracavitary brachytherapy for different tumors using the MultiSource 60Со apparatus have been devised at the Chelyabinsk Regional Cancer Center. Twenty patients received the combination of external beam radiation therapy and brachytherapy for tumors of the trachea, large bronchi, esophagus and oral cavity mucosa. The obtained findings are indicative of good tolerability, low toxicity and high immediate efficacy of brachytherapy regimens.
