An experience of Chinese language teaching at the Novosibirsk school no. 112 (in context of strategic partnership with Confucius class of humanities department of NSU)

The author opens an experience of partnership between NSU and Novosibirsk secondary school No. 112, on the basis of Confucius Class of Humanities Department. Novosibirsk State University (NSU) and Xinjiang University helped to the school No. 112 and other educational establishments in Novosibirsk to cooperate with those in China as well as to promote Chinese language in Russian Federation and Russian language in Chinese Peoples’ Republic. Also the fact is mentioned that school No. 112 became a member of Eurasian Association of Chinese Language Teachers under the aegis of the Basic organization of language and culture of CIS and Organization of Humanities Universities from countries-members of SCO (the Shanghai Cooperation Organization), and that gives a new impulse to Chinese language learning in Russian educational establishments. Association is founded on the basis of Moscow State Linguistic University and devoted to help in solving different problems connected with Chinese language teaching at schools and universities of member-countries. It could be, for example: aggregation of all members of this process, supplying them with all necessary textbooks and methodological materials, coordination of educational institutions activities, teachers’ experience exchange. Especially the problems are marked that are connected with Chinese learning at schools and continuity from secondary to high education: creating training package for Chinese language and including it into the National List of Schoolbooks, recommended by Ministry of Education and Science of Russian Federation; creating a mechanism of including Chinese language in the list of foreign languages for final assessment at schools. The author describes here cooperative organization of conferences, workshops, linguistic trainings for school children on the basis of Chinese Universities, teachers’ and children’s exchange programs, mostly maintained by Hanban and Confucius Institutes Head-quarter. It is also presented how The Centre of Chinese language and culture (the branch of Confucius Class of Humanities Department of NSU) has been working at school No. 112, where children can learn Chinese language as well as meet cultural heritage of the ancient Chinese civilization.
