Experience in applyingmethods of geometric morphometryin analyzing shapes of stone hoes of the Sochi-Adler type(based on materials from the Imereti lowlands)

The rescue and salvage excavations in the Imereti Lowlands in the courseof preparation for the Olympic Games yielded a vast collection of archaeologicalmaterials, including lithic agricultural tools deposited in the occupation layer. The paperfocuses on quantitative analysis of the Sochi-Adler type of hoes marked by a diversityof shapes. Method of geometric morphometry was used. Chronological variability of thistype of implements was traced down.
