The article presents the experience of sociological studies of the drug situation in the Republic of Bashkortostan (2004 - 2012). The authors of the article show the attitude of population to the illegal distribution of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, reveal major social threats and point out directions of the counteraction of population to drug addiction.
