Organic matter, catagenesis transformation and generation potential of Kazan-Tatarian deposits in the north of Pre-Ural foredeep

The article presents the results of coal petrological and pyrolytic (Rock-Eval) research of Kazan-Tatar deposits in north of the Pre-Ural foredeep which is very important to evaluate the oil and gas potential of the region. The main components in the composition of organic matter are macerals component of vitrinite group. The high content (up to 30%) of liptinite components is in the deposits of lagoon and lake-swamp depositional environments which are located in the southeast of Korotaikhinskaya depression and connection area of Chernyshev ridge with Kosyu-Rogovskaya depression. According to coal petrography the catagenesis transformation of organic matter in Kazan-Tatar deposits has gradation PC3 - MC1 (Ro 0.85) within Korotaikhinskaya depression. Pyrolytic method established that deposits with low hydrocarbon potential (HI 150 mg HC / g TOC) are locally in the Korotaikhinskaya depression and connection zone of Chernyshev ridge with Kosyu-Rogovskaya depression, which is associated with an increase of liptinite components in organic matter.
