Organization of choreographic festivals and competitions for the elderly

The author of the article based on my own experience of participation in choreographic festivals and competitions for the elderly analyzes the problems of their organization. Pointing out that there are not enough contests, the author focuses attention on the fuzzy definition of the concept «elderly person». This leads to is a wrong idea about the physiological and psychological characteristics of older people, and wrong criteria evaluations of concert numbers and the division contestants in age nominations. Overcoming organizational formalism, solution of the personnel issue in the socio-cultural sphere will contribute high-quality implementation choreographic festivals and contests for older people.
