Organization and legal regulation of the military tribunals in the early period of the Great Patriotic War

Immediately after the start of the Great Patriotic War, measures were taken in the Soviet state to transform the judicial system in connection with wartime. The article examines the organizational and legal features of the functioning of military tribunals created as part of the specified transformation of the judicial system, and the features of the organization and legal regulation of the activities of military tribunals in the first months after the outbreak of hostilities. The relevant legal acts and scientific works on this issue are analyzed. It is noted that military tribunals in emergency circumstances could consider criminal cases of military and other crimes in a fairly short time.
