The paper examines the problem of low qualifications of investigators solving corporate crimes in Russia, and suggests a solution in the form of corporate investigations independently conducted by victim organizations before applying to law enforcement agencies with a statement of a crime. Special attention is paid to the role of a lawyer in conducting such investigations and the possibility of using forensic knowledge to increase their effectiveness and achieve the main goal of initiating a criminal case based on information and documents collected during the investigation. The main stages and principles of corporate investigation planning are described: dynamism, consistency, completeness, reality, individuality, concreteness, timeliness and legality.
