The study is devoted to the activities for organizing cultural leisure in Leningrad in 1945, carried out under the leadership of the Department of Cultural and Educational Work of the Leningrad City Executive Committee of the Council of Working People’s Deputies. In 1945, an excursion and lecture bureaus were established in the structure of this unit. Among the key areas of its work, it is worth noting the systematic efforts to preserve and perpetuate the memory of the Defense of Leningrad during the Great Patriotic War. The revival of the museum network and the construction of memorials dedicated to the defense of the city contributed to the implementation of this task. During the period under study, a trend also emerged aimed at organizing the popularization of the historical and cultural heritage of Leningrad in the pre-Soviet and Soviet periods. Cultural and educational work was carried out quite effectively in the space of gardens and parks of Leningrad, which contributed to meeting the educational and recreational needs of city residents.
