Organization of medical care for the soldiers with mental problems during the Russo-Japanese War, 1904-1905

The article describes the reasons of appearance of mental illnesses among the troops during the Russo-Japanese war of 1904-1905, analyses the problems of organization of medical care for the soldiers with mental problems basing on the statistics from the Harbin hospitals. The author concludes that the prevalence of mental disorders associated with the military event led to the formation and development of military psychiatry in Russia.
