Organization of environment protection by local self-government bodies in sovereign Kyrgyzstan

Environmental protection is an urgent task and requires organizational actions of each country, including local self-government. Research materials and methods: in this study historical narrative and recitation methods in describing events related to environmental protection were used. Sovereign Kyrgyz Republic laws on environmental issues were explained. Research objectives: to analyze events and directions in environmental protection that provide an opportunity for implementation of environmental control by municipal authorities in accordance with the sovereign Kyrgyz Republic legislation. Research results: organizational activities by local governments in the field of waste management on the territory of urban and other settlements, measures to comply with the rules, norms and standards in the field of air protection, environmental impact assessment, and so on were determined. Conclusions: in determination priorities of certain types of environmental protection activities, it should be noted that it is in accordance with the specified law that all other laws establishing certain rights and obligations of local governments in the field of environmental protection should be brought.
