During examination of patients of outpatient-polyclinic unit of the oncologic dispensary their expectations were revealed for the purpose of identification of target groups, organisation of psychotherapy and social-psychological support. The target groups were distinguished: 1) persons seeking for oncologic care for the first time; 2) persons receiving specific therapy; 3) patients with stage III-IV malignant tumors (MT); 4) pateints with anxiety-depressive disorders; 5) relatives of pateints. Psychotherapeutic care for patients with cancer diseases was rendered in individual (psychiatric counseling, psychotherapy, psychoeducation, social-psychological support, psychopharmacotherapy) and group forms of work (open psychotherapeutic group, group counseling, and family psychotherapy). These forms of work are realised within humanistic, cognitive-behavioural directions of psychotherapy. In the process of treatment and rehabilitation of patient with cancer disease the maximum positive effect was achieved under conditions of work of interdisciplinary team including participation of a specialist of mental health service, involvement of patients, their relatives and other interested persons (volunteers).
