Organization of modern corporate training in Russia

The article examines the current structure of the activities of the first Russian corporate university, created by PJSC VimpelCom (trademark Beeline) in June 1999 and today is one of the leaders in the ranking of corporate education in our country. The subject of the study is the direct educational and analytical activities of the university in the preparation and implementation of various programs for training and personnel development, as well as the processes of personnel assessment and diagnosis. The study, carried out by the authors on the basis of interviews with managers and leading specialists of the Beeline University (this is exactly what the name of this division at PJSC VimpelCom looks and sounds like) and on the basis of its reporting, made it possible to prepare the model of the structure of the university’s services presented below, as well as to note the most significant achievements in the work this, without exaggeration, is a unique training center. The article includes a brief history of the concept of “corporate university”, a review of some key studies on the topic of corporate education, and then, in the main section, contains a detailed classification and description of all directions and formats of work of the Beeline corporate university. Some quantitative indicators of the work of the Beeline University are given, characterizing its scale and efficiency at the present time. The study is addressed to managers and specialists of Russian private companies, as well as government agencies involved in corporate education, and provides an opportunity to evaluate and possibly use in their own work the extensive experience of one of the largest Russian telecommunications companies.
