Orientalism in the art of Russia and Southern Ural of the 20th century

In the article orientalism is rendered as a specific and consolidate tendency developed in the art of Russia and in the local space of the Southern Ural region. In a brief historical and historiographical review reasons and forms of orientalism in the history of the Russian culture and art are given. Special attention is paid to dichotomy of West and East as well as Russia and East in art of the 20 th century including the Avant garde. Grounds for east components in the art of Southern Ural are given; a group of artists whose works are full of East experience is identified.
