Ornamental floral motifs in material culture (on the example of archaeological artifacts)

The article is devoted to a brief review of ornamental flower motifs in material culture based on archaeological materials. It is shown that flowers played a major role in the life of ancient man, starting with funeral rites and ending with decorative and applied art. A large block of materials comes from monuments belonging to the first civilizations. The foundations laid in the image of floral motifs, transforming, appear on wide territories in a large time interval.
