Enterprises in the mining and oil and gas sectors often face the implementation of projects with the participation of the state. Since enterprises in this sector are the most economically significant for the state, the implementation of projects in this area is a priority. When implementing a project activity, it is necessary to clearly plan a plan for its implementation. As part of the analysis of project activities, a project risk assessment is carried out. The most dangerous risks in the implementation of project activities in mining and oil and gas projects are managerial errors. In connection with this circumstance, it is necessary to consider conceptual mechanisms for preventing errors in the management of project activities. The relevance of the research topic is due to the need to develop a model for the formation of a risk-based approach in the implementation of mining and oil projects.
