Inspection of the scene at the initial stage of the investigation during the maternal murder of a newborn baby: practice, organizational and tactical problems and some ways to overcome them

This scientific paper discusses the most relevant in theoretical and practical aspects of organizational and tactical features of the examination of the maternal murder of a newborn baby, his content and significance of the results in establishing both the mechanism embedded within the individual traces and the crime in general. The author thoroughly analyses the theoretical provisions relating to the concepts of “crime scene” and “view of place of occurrence”, as well as actively uses the results of the judicial and investigative practice concerning this type of crime, on the basis of which some major deficiencies in the activities of the crime scene investigation team are identified and analyzed and ways of preventing them are proposed. The paper pays considerable attention to the specifics of the material traces and other objects of this type of crime to be located, recorded and confiscated during the investigative inspection; it formulates the most relevant tasks to be solved during the inspection of crime scenes in connection with the maternal murder of a newborn baby.
