Comprehension of the concept “journey” in Adam Young's poetic texts

The article deals with the peculiarities of expressing the comprehension of the concept “journey” based on the songs by the songwriter Adam Young, and also with the characteristics of poetic and prosaic texts. It states that poetic text is characterized by such features as picturesqueness, emotional experience, clear distinction of structural elements and symbolism, that is interpretational profundity. Furthermore, it states that, in A. Young’s texts, journey has multiple interpretations. First, the concept symbolizes changes for the better in the main character’s life. Second, it can be real or imaginary, in the latter case it is about meeting the beloved one. It is worth mentioning that in all cases journey is associated with the images that cause positive emotions.
