The problem of continuity in S.I. Taneyev's views on the future of Russian music

The author of the article comprehends the epistolary work of S.I. Taneyev (1856-1915) in terms the search for universal principles that ensure the continuity of the development of culture. The article presents unique archival sources that allow discovering new facets of the creative heritage of the outstanding Russian composer, scientist and teacher. Sergei Ivanovich in his notes, diaries, letters seems to be addressing us, people of the 21st century, suggesting how to save ourselves and the world, art, culture.
